Recently government decided to ensure the accurate owner of the SIM and to prevent fraud connection. Now anyone can’t buy SIM without national id card. They have to provide the accurate information to purchase a SIM. However, the all operator have been launched the Sim re-registration program already. Banglalink, Grameenphone, Robi, Airtel, Teletalk customer can complete re-registration from online. They can also finish their Sim registration via mobile SMS. Even the customer can complete their Sim re-registration process going to the customer care of the individual operators.
Sim re-registration via mobile SMS:
Airtel, Banglalink, Grameenphone, Robi, Teletalk users follow the instruction to update your connection. You have to type a sms and send to 1600 number.
1) Go to your mobile message option and type – Your national id card number <space> Your birth date (according NID) <space> Your full name. Then send it to 1600 number. Example : XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX 10 Oct 1983 Mahadi Hassan and send to 1600.
2) But, if you are a Citycell user, you have to send a different SMS. To complete Sim re-registration in Citycell, type – U <space>Your NID number <space> Date of birth (according the NID) <space> Your full name and send to 1600.
Example : U XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX 10 Oct 1983 Mahadi Hassan and send to 1600.
You can also complete your Sim re-registration process online. But this online Sim re-registration process is only available for the Banglalink users. If you are a Banglalink customers you can update your sim information through Banglaink official website. You can complete your Banglalink Sim re-registration process via online from here directly.
In fact, Tarana Halim, Minister of the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications of Bangladesh has taken the initiative to update the data of 13 million mobile phone subscribers in the country . From 16 October, the updating data started officially.
